Well, I made it through the weekend. And I really liked falling back an hour. Yay for another hour of sleep. Hope you did as well. 🙂

Here’s a cute project from last week:

It’s a beautiful cloche and tutorial from Maiden D’Shade. I like the festive fall look.

Ch…ch….ch…changes

November 7, 2011
So I’m trying to make a few changes around the blog. Things may be a little quirky for awhile. I apologize in advance. Hopefully I’ll get it all figured out quickly.

You see, I’m trying to be all DIY about self-hosting and everything. This means I have to make phone calls to support often while I attempt to learn.

Do you have any tips or suggestions?

Well, everyone, what a fun round! We had some great projects linked up.

The winner was Tasara, with her butterfly quilt. If you’re Tasara, please contact me.

If you aren’t, get ready for the next round. It’s coming in a few weeks. Be sure and follow the Pinterest Challenge blog, so you can keep updated.

Shabby Apple Winner

November 3, 2011
-This winter we've taken a classic party dress shape to new heights with the Mulholland dress. With a nipped waist and capped sleeves, our ivory stretch charmeuse silhouette is overlaid with delicate eyelash lace that falls below the knee, and tied off with a contrasting grosgrain ribbon at the waist. Simultaneously sophisticated and sassy, the Confidential will make any special occasion shine.
Congrats to Laura P., winner of the Shabby Apple giveaway! She will have 72 hours to reply to my e-mail, or another winner will be chosen.

Are you not Laura? Don’t fret. Use code ninthstreet10off for 10% off at Shabby Apple.

Flowers

November 2, 2011
Am I the only girl like this?

I don’t particularly care for flowers. Yep, that’s right. I don’t like flowers. I don’t want my husband to get me a bouquet. Ever.

See, I like to look at them. But I don’t really like the way they smell. I don’t really hate flowers completely. Although my favorite flowers to look at are iris, I don’t want to have them overpowering me with their scent. I’d much rather have a box of chocolates. Or a neat kitchen gadget.

I think this carries over a bit into the fact that I don’t particularly go for most things with flowers on them. I don’t really own floral print clothing. I like some accessories with over-the-top flowers, however. And I found this fabulous wallpaper that is just my sort of flora:

It’s bold, vintage-looking, and doesn’t smell. Can’t you just see this in a living room paired with some fun gray furniture?

I’m linking up to the Gussy Sews Workshop, but in the meantime, do any of you especially love (or hate!) flowers?

It’s In the Bag

November 1, 2011
Here’s my ugly old worn-out purse. I seriously need a new one, but I haven’t gotten around to it. I’ve decorated it with a pin from the Gold Rush Days in Valdez, AK. Once upon a time this bag was bright and fun. Now it’s just kind of just blah.

Inside is not a lot better.

It contains:
1. My cash wallet. Currently empty.
2. My card wallet. Entirely too full with grocery store rewards cards.
3. My “idea” notebook. Also contains a lot of to do lists.
4. My calendar. Otherwise I would have no idea what I’m doing at any point in time.
5. Lotion, gum, and mints. Be prepared.
6. Pen, keys, lip gloss, and chapstick.
7. Miscellaneous garbage: receipts and gum wrappers. I really need to clean my bag out.
8. My medical kit: ibuprofen, benadryll, and inhaler.

Now you know a little bit more about me. I’m apparently lazy since I need to get a new purse but haven’t. And I need to clean out the garbage too, but haven’t.

I’m linking up to Nice Girl Notes.

I Made It! Monday Linky Week 42

October 31, 2011
Man, everybody. I feel like I have been getting nothing done lately. This weekend my husband got very sick, so I had (wanted) to try and make him feel better. This meant getting lots of crackers and lemon-lime soda.

Plus, I’m moving. I’ll share photos of the new place soon.

And, I’m getting ready for my parents’ 20th-anniversary party. I’ll have pictures of that, too.

And then, after all this gets done, maybe I’ll have some time for fun projects just for me. Maybe I’ll even share them with you. 🙂

Hopefully you haven’t had this problem. You’ve been creating up a storm. Here’s a fun project from last week’s linky:

P1010999

Mrs. T, Naturally shared a little tutorial on making your very own organic children’s baby wash. What a great idea because it’s SO expensive. Now, as you all know, I haven’t any kids. But I do have a husband with sensitive skin. This might be just the thing for him, too.

On to this week. A few guidelines. Not rules, per say, but guidelines.

1. Follow my blog. You’ll know when to link up next week.
2. Keep it family-friendly. I do reserve the right to delete links.
3. Post a link on your post, so others can join the fun.
4. Visit the others’ projects and share some comments.
